Parents and guardians of school age children were in need of an app that would allow for the easy management and viewing of school lunch money balances and upcoming menu options. Rather than waiting for the school to send a paper home that their lunch account was low or empty, or the inevitable wrath of a child returning home after not being able to purchase their favorite lunch, there was a desire for a way to quickly and easily manage children’s lunch accounts from anywhere.

The Malone University web team recently redesigned the schools website; however, the structure of the new website has left users frustrated with the disjointed experience they have attempting to find information while navigating the site. In an effort to explore where the new design was failing users, Malone desired to employ user research to discover the key site issues affecting user’s ability to find the information they desire on the site.

The purpose of this study was to determine if the honeybeeBase website and onboarding process is performing the way users would expect it to while uncovering design flaws keeping users from accomplishing their desired tasks while navigating the site.
